New Mexico Mountain Biking Opportunities: White Ridge Trail
The White Ridge Mountain Bike Trail System is set atop the Tierra Amarilla Anticline, a unique geologic region west of Albuquerque, New Mexico that features high narrow ridges and bright gypsum soils.
The trails have been developed with mountain biking in mind and are characterized by fast sections of playful singletrack following exposed ridgelines with 360 degree views. Much of the trail system is found along the tops of the ridgelines accessed by long, steep climbs.
Throughout the trails that cover both BLM lands and the Pueblo of Zia, riders can experience a combination of geological, cultural and paleontological interested points.
One of the Bureau of Land Management's "Backyard to Backcountry" treasures, information on the White Ridge Trail System-Main Loop was developed between IMBA and the Rio Puerco BLM Field Office in Albuquerque NM office to provide world-class riding experiences. IMBA's data on the trail includes elevations, ratings, current conditions, photos, and comments
