Nevada Mountain Biking Opportunities: Cottonwood Valley Trail
The Cottonwood Valley Trail System is a unique opportunity to experience mountain biking in close proximity to the Las Vegas, Nevada urban area. Situated under the beautiful backdrop of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, this network of trails provides opportunities to experience desert riding in many different combinations of loops.
The trails here provide a challenging riding experience characterized by hard-packed soils with embedded rocks, small ledgy drops with various trail grades and numerous elevation changes.
The trails wind through the Mojave Desert landscape, including Joshua tree forests and hidden drainages. In addition, Red Rock Canyon offers a 13-mile scenic drive, miles of hiking trails, rock climbing, horseback riding, mountain biking, road biking, picnic areas, nature observing and visitor center with indoor and outdoor exhibits and a gift shop.
One of the Bureau of Land Management's "Backyard to Backcountry" treasures, information on the Cottonwood Valley Trail Blue Diamond Loop was developed between IMBA and the Red Rock National Conservation Area and the Southern Nevada District BLM office to provide world-class riding experiences. IMBA's data on the trail includes elevations, ratings, current conditions, photos, and comments.
