Farmington Field Office

The Farmington Field Office is located in northwestern New Mexico in the San Juan Basin. The Field Office is responsible for managing some of New Mexico’s most scenic public lands for multiple uses, ranging from energy development to wildlife habitat to recreation and conservation.

A visit to the over 1.4 million acres of public lands managed by the Field Office can offer a visitor solitude while exploring wilderness and wilderness study areas or discovery when visiting unique natural features like colorful badlands.  Make sure to visit the many historic and cultural sites as well as experience the thrill of riding the trails at several recreation sites available for mountain bikers, horseback riders, or off-highway vehicle enthusiasts.  In addition, the BLM administers 2.7 million acres of Federal mineral estate in the area.
