Monticello Field Office

New Local Internship Program:

Short-term week long internships with the Monticello Field Office are open now for the summer 2024 and school breaks. We encourage local high school and college students to apply. General Information:

The Bureau of Land Management Monticello Field Office administers nearly 1.8 million surface acres of land. Of that land, over million acres make up Bears Ears National Monument. These acres contain landscapes ranging from the winding waters of the San Juan River to the deep gorges of Cedar Mesa and the sheer, dramatic cliffs of Indian Creek. The human uses of Monticello Field Office land are as varied as its landforms: people come visit for ceremonial purposes, recreation, wood cutting, livestock grazing, camping, and more.
