Gila District Office
The Gila District Office is comprised of the Safford Field Office and the Tucson Field Office, encompassing the management of over 2 million acres of desert, mountains, and grasslands in eastern and southeastern Arizona. The Safford Field Office is located in Safford. The Tucson Field Office shares offices with the Gila District in Tucson, but also has a San Pedro Project Office which is shared with the U.S. Forest Service in Hereford.
Safford Field Office
The BLM Safford Field Office manages 1.4 million acres along with 118,000 acres in cooperation with the BLM Las Cruces Field Office. The office also manages the Gila Box Riparian National Conservation Area, the Aravaipa Canyon Wilderness and the Black Hills Back Country Byway,

Tucson Field Office
The BLM Tucson Field Office manages more than 600,000 acres and shares the international border with Mexico. The field office is responsible for stewardship of the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area, Las Cienegas National Conservation Area, Ironwood Forest National Monument and the Gila River Canyons passage of the Arizona National Scenic Trail. The San Pedro Project Office shares offices with the U.S. Forest Service in Hereford.
