ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Bureau of Land Management will hold virtual Alaska Resource Advisory Council (RAC) meetings on February 8 and May 17, 2022. The public is welcome to attend.

The 15-member Alaska RAC serves in an advisory capacity concerning issues relating to land use planning and the management of the public land resources located within the State of Alaska. Members represent a variety of interests reflective of the agency’s multiple-use mission and Alaska’s diverse population. Members meet to collaborate with each other and make recommendations to the BLM Alaska State Director. Over the years, consensus-based recommendations made by RACs have proven effective and lasting.

“These multi-faceted volunteers share unique experiences and provide us advice and guidance on management of public lands,” said BLM acting Alaska State Director Tom Heinlein. “I look forward to meeting as we continue working together to create solutions that benefit all Alaskans.”

Planned agenda items include updates on resource management plans, conveyances, recreation management, and time for public comments. The agendas and other RAC information, such as previous meeting minutes and presentations, are available on the Alaska RAC webpage: www.blm.gov/Alaska/RAC.
