Subject: 2007 Revised State Protocol Agreement and Historic Preservation Program Documents
Attached for immediate implementation are two copies of our 2007 Revised Protocol Agreement with the State Historic Preservation Officers (SHPO) from California and Nevada for compliance with Sections 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act. The documents include the revised Protocol and Exemptions (Appendix D), a new amendment for Supplemental Procedures for Fluid Minerals Leasing, and finally an amendment that addresses our Section 110 responsibilities through a Historic Preservation Program for Public Lands in California and Northwestern Nevada.
Thank you very much for all of your work in developing, supporting, and implementing the enclosed documentation and developing a Protocol that is now the national model for the Bureau of Land Management.
If you have any questions, please contact Ken Wilson, State Archaeologist and Tribal Liaison at
