Birch Creek National Wild and Scenic River Brochure
Birch Creek (Ikhèenjik River) is one of Alaska’s 25 Wild and Scenic rivers. The Bureau of Land Management administers Birch Creek to provide high-quality but undeveloped recreational opportunities, to protect water quality and archeological sites, and to preserve the character of the river.
This brochure provides safety tips and navigation information for a successful float trip, as well as information on the cultural history of the area, its unique geology, and the fish and wildlife one might see.
