New look for BLM.gov keeps pace with tech changes and user expectations

Recently, the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) public website received an update that improves the site’s Section 508 compliance and mobile device experience. The new look aligns with the 21st Century Integrated Digital Experience Act, which calls for improving the digital experience for government customers and reinforces existing requirements and rules for federal public websites.

BLM.gov continues to keep pace with advancements in technology, web trends and public expectations from websites. With 1.7 million people accessing the site each month and growing, this redesign effort comes at the right time. This site is the best online space for the public to learn about BLM and its mandate of multiple use and sustained yield.

The website is now more user-friendly with a fresh design and typography. Other improvements include a lighter background that emphasizes BLM photography and more ways to present video, photographs and other media across mobile, desktop and tablet devices.

With approximately 21,000 pages of public content, BLM.gov supports Administration priorities.

People are accustomed to using the Internet to interact with government. This fresh look improves that experience and delivers information in ways the public now demands and expects—quick, easy, secure and accessible.
