Trails Center to host 'Ladies on the Frontier' and Dakota Hoop Dancing
Event Description
CASPER, Wyo. – Visit the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center Sept. 14 and 15 for a weekend of engaging programs honoring women.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, local living historians Jean Smart and Friends will take you back in time by showcasing a variety of programs and displays, including women’s pioneer clothing styles, sewing, and Dutch-oven cookware. The displays will be located inside the lobby of the Trails Center and the living historians will be available for questions and discussions. Come celebrate and learn more about the pioneer women of the frontier.
On Sunday at 3 p.m., two-time world champion hoop dancer Jasmine Pickner-Bell will be back at the Trails Center to perform and share her story of life and dance. Pickner-Bell is an enrolled member of the Crow Creek Dakota Sioux Tribe and has been hoop dancing since a young age.

- Sunday, Sept. 15 at 3 p.m. – Dakota Hoop Dancing with Jasmine Pickner-Bell.
