The Bureau of Land Management proposes to extend a 25-year public land withdrawal for continued military use and training at Fort Irwin National Training Center in San Bernardino County. Federal Register publication of Notice of the Army’s withdrawal extension application initiates a 90-day public comment period that will end on Oct. 24.


The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land located primarily in 12 western states, including Alaska, on behalf of the American people. The BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation.
