Dec. 7: Celebrate NPLD with an Ironwood Forest National Monument volunteer workday

Event Description
The Bureau of Land Management Tucson Field Office and the Friends of Ironwood Forest will be hosting a National Public Lands Day event on Saturday, December 7 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Ironwood Forest National Monument.
The volunteer workday will conduct restoration work on the Monument. Work will include sign installation, mulching, tread repairs, fence repairs or removal, and dispersed campsite maintenance.
Participants will meet at the Marana Regional Airport between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and travel to the Ironwood Forest National Monument sites to begin volunteer work at 9:00 a.m. Volunteers will be signed up under a BLM volunteer agreement.
Volunteers should bring a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, work gloves, water and snacks. BLM staff will have extra tools and gloves available for use during the project.
