COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Coeur d’Alene Field Office management is seeking public comment on corrections to the Rochat Divide-Pine Creek Special Recreation Management Area (SMRA) map. The map corrects the Rochat Divide-Pine Creek SRMA portion of the Motorized Route Designations – Silver Valley Map 4; originally distributed with the 2007 Coeur d’Alene Resource Management Plan (RMP).

The purpose of the map correction is to fix errors and clarify route designations that were included in the RMP to provide better information to the public about which routes are available for motorized travel and any seasonal restrictions that may apply. Corrections include taking off the map routes that were discovered not to exist during an on-the-ground route inventory conducted in 2015; routes for which the BLM does not have public use easements; and routes designated as “closed to public use or administrative use only.”  All other route restrictions remain the same as in Map 4 of the 2007 RMP.

The public comment period regarding the map correction will run from November 21, 2024, to December 6, 2024, and comments are being accepted on the BLM’s ePlanning site at https://eplanning.blm.gov/eplanning-ui/project/2034711/510. For additional information, please contact the Coeur d’Alene Field Office at 208-769-5000.
