Jump Creek winds through rhyolite, a volcanic rock shaped by erosion. The creek was named after Bill Jump, a prospector who lived upstream from the falls in the late 1880s.
Jump Creek features a striking waterfall and a lush riparian habitat filled with water birch and red osier dogwood trees. Visitors can follow the easy Jump Creek Falls Trail, walk to the Falls Overlook, or picnic near the rock crevices and meandering stream. Those seeking a refreshing swim can take a dip at the base of the falls. Use caution: Poison ivy grows thickly in some areas along the creek and trail.

Southwest of Marsing, Idaho; From Boise, take Interstate 84 West to the Nampa exit for Highway 55 (Exit 33A). Follow Highway 55 through Marsing and on to the junction with US-95. Continue 1 mile past the junction and turn left onto Cemetery Road. Cemetery Road will dead end at a T-intersection, turn left at the T onto Jump Creek Road. Follow Jump Creek Road through the Poison Creek Intersection for roughly 1/2 mile, when road turns to gravel take a right and cross the cattle guard. This is now a public route through private property, follow signage and stay on main road to the recreation area. Please respect private property throughout the area.
