Accessibility Description (ABA/ADA)

The large gravel parking lot transitions to a concrete sidewalk that encircles the campground. The parking area allows vehicles to pull right up to an information kiosk, payment boxes, and an accessible double vault toilet. There is a second double vault toilet farther along the sidewalk that is also marked as accessible. Erosion has exposed a concrete lip near the entrance to this second toilet that may be challenging for some visitors with mobility impairments.

The sidewalk leads to two covered group campsites as well as the campground’s designated accessible campsite—campsite #5, which has its own parking spur. This campsite has a picnic table with open ends that can accommodate wheelchair users and a fire ring with a grill attachment. Campers using the site can reach the accessible toilet via the paved sidewalk.

The sidewalk also leads to a viewing platform overlooking the Colorado River, and there are two benches without arms along this part of the path. As the sidewalk nears the platform it may be less accessible due to sand and debris deposits left by higher river levels.
