BLM CO RGFO Cache Creek Placer Area Map

Thumbnail of the BLM CO RGFO Cache Creek Placer Area Map

Historically, Cache Creek Placer Area was one of the first large mining communities in Colorado in the late 1800s. Leftover traces of gold may be found within the area open to recreational gold panning and sluicing activity. Dispersed camping is permitted in locations identified with a tent symbol. Cache Creek was originally acquired to protect wintering elk so motorized access to the area is limited to Memorial Day Weekend through November 30.
