The Great Basin Geographic Area, in conjunction with the Forest Service Intermountain Region, will be soliciting for the following equipment to be utilized on fire emergency incidents under the Virtual Incident Procurement (VIPR) system:- Heavy Equipment with Water (skidgines, skidders, pumper cats)- Refrigerated Truck/Trailers- Wildland Engines and Water Tenders (support and tactical)- Weed Washing UnitsThe solicitations opened Monday, December 14, 2015, and will close on January 29, 2016. Awards will be made for a 3-year period (2016-2018). This will be the only opportunity for vendors to be awarded a competitive agreement during this timeframe.Solicitations can be found on the FedBizOpps website at: www.fbo.gov. Search on the keyword "VIPR" to narrow the search to only those solicitations being offered for fire emergencies. Great Basin solicitations will be noted as "Region 4 - Intermountain Region."All wildland engines, water tenders and weed washing units will be required to be inspected prior to award of an agreement. The dates and locations of those inspections will be communicated to those vendors who have responded to the solicitation.In order to do business with the Government, vendors MUST have an active SAM account. For vendors who use VIPR, they MUST ensure certain company information they provide in VIPR matches the same type of information that is found in their SAM record.
