ST. GEORGE, Utah –The public is invited to a meeting from 4:30-7:30 p.m., Dec. 17, at the Dixie Convention Center, 1835 Convention Center Drive, St. George, 84790, to provide the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) comments on multiple projects in Washington County.

In anticipation of the start of a 30-day scoping period, the BLM and USFWS invite the public to the meeting to identify issues, ask questions, or express concerns regarding the development of a draft environmental impact statement (EIS) that will analyze the Utah Department of Transportation’s proposed highway right-of-way (called the Northern Corridor project) and the issuance of an incidental take permit to Washington County, as well as potential associated actions. In order to provide the public as much notice as possible regarding the public meeting, the BLM is providing this information now, and will accept comments before the official scoping period begins. The 30-day scoping period officially begins with the publication of a notice of intent in the Federal Register on Dec. 5, 2019.
