VERNAL, Utah – The John Jarvie Historic Ranch and the RV pump station will close for the season Sept. 23, 2019. Maintenance and construction activities are scheduled during the closure to upgrade the facilities. The Bureau of Land Management Vernal Field Office is scheduled to reopen the Jarvie Ranch and the RV pump station on May 2, 2020.

Located along the Green River in eastern Utah, the Jarvie Property had been used for years by early Native Americans, fur trappers and travelers. On the property, John Jarvie ran a general store, trading post, post office, and river ferry. There is a cemetery adjacent to the site.
