ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) announces the Alaska Resource Advisory Council (RAC) Subcommittee on Public Lands will meet November 17-18, 2020, and February 9-10, 2021.
The public is welcome to attend the virtual meetings hosted online via Zoom. Meeting links will be posted online or anyone can call in by contacting the BLM Alaska RAC coordinator prior to the meeting.
The 15-member Alaska RAC serves in an advisory capacity concerning issues relating to land use planning or the management of the public land resources located within the State of Alaska. The 8-member Subcommittee on Public Lands was established to gather information, conduct research, and analyze relevant issues and facts on selected topics for future consideration by the RAC. The Subcommittee’s primary goal is to provide information to the RAC that will allow it to better respond to issues, such as resource management plans, arctic activity, conveyances, minerals, subsistence management, and recreation. No decisions are made at the subcommittee level. Final agendas will be posted online two weeks prior to the meetings.
“The subcommittee will provide input on a wide range of BLM activities across Alaska,” BLM Alaska State Director Chad Padgett said. “I’m grateful to have this group of resident experts from across the Last Frontier who will share their perspectives with the parent RAC and ultimately help inform our decision-making.”
