BLM prepares environmental assessment in response to Wright Area Environmental Impact Statement 10th Circuit Court remand

CASPER, Wyo. - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is preparing the Wright Area Coal Leasing 10th Circuit Court Remand Environmental Assessment (EA). The document is in response to the District Court’s November 27, 2017 order requiring BLM to revise the environmental analysis for the leasing decisions. Through its multiple-use mission, the BLM provides opportunities for economic growth through traditional uses such as ranching, mining, logging, and energy development as well as hunting and fishing.

The NEPA Register number for the EA is DOI-BLM-WY-P000-2018-0002-EA.  Additional information and updates will be posted at the following website: https://go.usa.gov/xntFJ. BLM ensures that federal coal lease applications are analyzed in accordance with Federal regulations.
