BLM Lander reminds public of seasonal closures

LANDER, Wyo. – With winter fast approaching, the Bureau of Land Management reminds public land users of annual motorized travel restrictions in the Lander Field Office area.

The following areas will close to seasonal motorized vehicle travel in order to protect critical wildlife wintering and parturition habitats, as well as roadbeds and erodible soils: 

  • Red Canyon Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC): December 1-June 15
  • Green Mountain ACEC, including Green Mountain Campground and Loop Road: December 1-June 15
  • Lander Slope ACEC, including Shoshone Lake Road (which closed November 25): December 1-June 15
  • East Fork ACEC: December 16-May 15
