Subject: Fiscal Year (FY) 2012 Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Nevada Wilderness, Recreation, and Travel Management Workshop

The FY 2012 Nevada BLM Wilderness, Recreation, and Travel Management Workshop will be held April 30 – May 4, 2012, at the Nevada State Office, 1340 Financial Boulevard, Reno, Nevada.
The Wilderness portion of the workshop will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday and end at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Recreation portion will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday and run through 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. The Travel Management portion will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday and end at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Please arrange your travel accordingly. The per diem rate for Reno is $145 per day (lodging $94, M&IE $51).
The target groups for this workshop are Wilderness Specialists, Wilderness Rangers, Wilderness Planners, Outdoor Recreation Planners, Travel Management Specialists and other resource program leaders and staff specialists from Nevada District Offices, Field Offices, and California’s Eagle Lake and Surprise Field Offices. A special invitation is extended to managers in all offices who are interested in or involved with Nevada’s Wilderness, Recreation, and Travel Management Programs.
District Offices are requested to email a list of workshop participants and to submit topics for possible agenda items to Steve, Barb and Leo, no later than Friday, April 13th. A final agenda will be assembled from the topics submitted and will be sent to workshop participants prior to the workshop.
Part of the Wilderness portion of the workshop will be devoted to District presentations relating to wilderness and Interim Management Policy (IMP) issues, current projects, accomplishments or planned events. In this regard, please notify Steve regarding your topic, the time needed (half hour or 45 minutes) and any particular audio-visual needs you may have for your presentation.
