This activity book is intended primarily for children in the third through fifth grades. Its purpose is to introduce young people to public lands, the BLM’s mission, and some of the issues facing land managers. Walk on the Wild Side provides young people with a variety of background information and activity pages that can be shared with their parents and teachers. BLM employees who provide outreach to schools and young people might want to make use of this book in their programming, particularly any sections that pertain to their area of focus. Please offer copies of Walk on the Wild Side: Explore Your Public Lands at visitor centers, BLM public rooms, and other appropriate venues. You are encouraged to coordinate with your office Forms Manager to order copies (up to 100 per order) free of charge from BLM Printed Materials Distribution Services at the National Operations Center.
