Bureau of Land Management expands emergency fire closure due to Cottage Grove - Lane 1 Fire
Dorena, Ore. — The Bureau of Land Management Northwest Oregon District has expanded a temporary closure of BLM public lands due to fire activity. The expanded closure is for public and firefighter safety.
The expanded closure includes all BLM public lands, roads, sites, and trails in T22S, R1W and T23S, R1W. This encompasses BLM public lands southeast of the town of Dorena and east of Cottage Grove. The Sharps Creek Campground and BLM lands south of the campground are also closed. For additional information and the closure map, visit https://www.blm.gov/orwafire.
Members of the public may not enter closed areas, and all uses—including hiking, mining, hunting and dispersed camping—are prohibited. Sharps Creek Road (County Road 2460) and Clark Creek Road (Road No. 23-1-13) remain open to residents within the closure area.
As it becomes safe to do so, firefighters will begin to assess the closure and their impacts.
