LAKEVIEW, Ore. — The Bureau of Land Management’s Southeast Oregon Resource Advisory Council (RAC) will meet in person on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time (MDT) and attend a field tour to the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The public is welcome to attend the June 11 meeting. The meeting will be held, and the field tour will commence and conclude, at the Four Rivers Cultural Center, 676 SW 5th Ave, Ontario, Oregon, 97914. A virtual participation option will also be available for the June 11 meeting and participation instructions will be posted to the Southeast Oregon RAC’s webpage in advance of the meeting.

"The Southeast Oregon RAC members are an important part of the land management process," Burns District Manager Jeff Rose said. "Members provide diverse perspectives on local interests that help advise BLM activities throughout the State.”

Advisory councils consist of up to 15 members representing diverse interests in the local community. The Southeast Oregon RAC provides advice and recommendations to the Secretary of the Interior on public land resource and management issues in the Vale, Burns and Lakeview BLM Districts and the Fremont-Winema and Malheur National Forests.

Agenda topics include presentations on Dark Sky, Fire Season Outlook, and WH&B; and updates on the Lakeview Resource Management Plan Amendment.

Half-hour comment periods, during which the public may address the RAC, will be offered at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024. Depending on the number of people wishing to comment and the time available, the amount of time for individual oral comments may be limited.
